We offer In-House Travel Teams at both the 12U and 9U levels. These teams are designed for players who are passionate about softball and ready to compete at a higher level.

Team Philosophy

The Rockets teams are competitive teams, focused on developing skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a challenging environment. Our goal is to create teams that can compete successfully in various tournaments and leagues.

Commitment

Practicing this winter and improving her softball skills.
Practicing during IHTT Team Practices
Playing in all the scheduled tournaments with the team.
Playing Spring CDGS in-house softball.
(Not required, but recommended) Playing Fall CDGS in-house softball
Please note: Players on the travel team will be spread across different in-house teams in the division.

Season Breakdown

Fall:

    ● Play in 1-2 tournaments
    ● Play some friendlies to confirm team strengths and areas for improvement over the winter.
    ● (not required, but recommended) Play CDGS Fall Ball.

Winter:

    ● Participate in CDGS clinics at the field house for an hour or two, utilizing trainers and working as a team (included in Rockets IHTT price).
    ● Additional training with a trainer (details TBD, may include additional costs).

Spring:

    ● Play CDGS Spring Ball.
    ● Play in 2-4 Tournaments.
    ● Memorial Day Tournament.
    ● Play Friendlies.

FAQ

● What is the Rockets Travel Team?
    ○ The Rockets Travel Team is a competitive part-time travel/in-house travel team designed for players who are passionate about softball and ready to compete at a higher level.

● When and where are the tryouts?
    ○ Tryouts will be held on July 10th at 6:00 PM at Lily Lake Field 1.

● Who can try out for the 12U team?
    ○ Players born in 2012 and 2013 are eligible to try out for the 12U team.

● Who can try out for the 9U team?
    ○ Players born in 2015, 2016, and 2017 are eligible for the 9U team.

● Why isn’t there a 10U team?
    ○ At this time, we don’t have a coach for this level.  If that changes, we will communicate.

● Will all players who try out make the team?
    ○ Not all players will make the team; selection is based on skill, teamwork, and readiness for competitive play. Positions will remain open until we have a full competitive roster.

● What level of commitment is required?
    ○ Players selected for the Rockets must demonstrate a strong commitment to attending practices, games, and team activities. This team requires a higher level of dedication compared to recreational teams.

● How much will it cost to participate?
NOTE: Tryout is free. Registration fee will be applied to account if selected. Payment plans available at checkout.
• 9U - $500
• 12U - $600

● Who are the coaches?
    ○ The 12U team is led by Coach Jessie Weachter, and the 9U team is led by Coach Dayna Vargas.
