Central District Girls Softball (CDGS) is the only community based fastpitch softball association within the Central School District 301. Fastpitch is how softball is played at the junior high, high school, and college levels. Slow pitch is how softball is played in lower level, primarily Kindergarten to 4th grade.
Our goal is to provide a fun, casual environment where girls can learn and develop the skills and fundamentals necessary to advance in the game of fastpitch softball. The girls in our league learn to play many different positions and learn to react to numerous game situations and while doing so will form friendships and memories that last a lifetime.
CDGS fields softball teams, representing the communities of the Central School District 301, Elgin, Lilly Lake, Plato Center, Campton Hills, and Hampshire. We provide age appropriate opportunities for girls ranging from Kindergarten up to age 16.
We believe it is important to teach girls the proper fundamentals of the game from an early age, as they are the building block for future success in the game. CGDS is the primary "feeder" program for the Central High School fastpitch program.
Our Mission
CDGS strives to provide a positive, competitive experience for players of all abilities, with emphasis on teaching the fundamentals of the game. Sportsmanship, teamwork, and skill development are stressed. CDGS is a parent and volunteer organization committed to building an appreciation for fastpitch softball through parental involvement and quality coaching.
