DESCRIPTION OF BOARD POSITIONS

President The President oversees all CDGS operations and implements policies established by the CDGS Board and Little League. This two-year position involves reporting on the league's condition and addressing any necessary issues or suggestions to enhance league welfare. The President ensures compliance with Little League Softball's regulations and is responsible for the league's adherence to these standards. They also handle key communications and oversee the transition of responsibilities between administrations.

Vice President The Vice President acts in the President's stead during their absence, carrying all the powers of the presidency. Responsibilities include coordinating league scheduling, ordering yard signs, and ensuring adherence to Little League guidelines. The Vice President also takes on additional tasks as delegated by the President or the Board.

Secretary The Secretary is tasked with recording the activities of the league, maintaining essential files, and managing communications for meetings. They ensure that minutes from board and member meetings are accurately recorded and distributed. The role also involves managing the Team Coordinators.

Treasurer The Treasurer manages the league’s financial affairs, including receiving all money and securities, and overseeing their proper disposition as per board-established policies. They prepare annual financial reports for the board and league membership, and handle the filing of tax returns. Regular financial updates and the management of league funds are also critical aspects of this role.

Player Agent The Player Agent manages player registrations and transactions, ensuring all player records are current and accurate. This role involves organizing player drafts and ensuring compliance with Little League International's standards. The Player Agent also oversees the online registration system and keeps the league rosters well-organized.

Safety Officer The Safety Officer is responsible for developing and implementing safety protocols to provide a secure environment for all participants. They manage educational programs on safety and ensure league compliance with safety standards. The officer also prepares safety plans and communicates these to league members and Little League International.

Coaches Coordinator The Coaches Coordinator serves as a liaison for coaches, providing them with necessary resources and organizing annual meetings to discuss coaching strategies and conduct. They update the Coaches Code of Conduct and coordinate training sessions, ensuring all coaches are well-prepared for the season.

Sponsorsor Coordinator  This manager is essential for securing local sponsorships and overseeing league fundraising initiatives. They are responsible for organizing fundraising events, maintaining records of contributions, and ensuring that all sponsor commitments are fulfilled.

Snack Shack Coordinator (Committee)  The Snack Shack Coordinator runs the league’s concession operations, managing inventory, purchasing products, and scheduling volunteers. They ensure the concession stands operate smoothly during league events and are also responsible for financial management related to concessions.

Volunteer Coordinator The Volunteer Coordinator is the primary contact for all league volunteers, responsible for recruiting, scheduling, and managing and tracking volunteers for various league activities. They ensure volunteers are well-prepared and provide a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Tournament/Travel Coordinator This coordinator manages all aspects of league travel and tournament participation. They communicate with other leagues and tournament organizers, organize tournaments at CDGS and ensure all travel plans align with league standards and player safety.

Social Media Coordinator The Social Media Coordinator manages and enhances the league's presence across various social media platforms. They create engaging content that promotes league activities, responds to community feedback, and strategizes to increase community engagement.

Umpire Coordinator The Umpire Coordinator recruits and schedules umpires for all games, ensuring fair and consistent game officiating. They organize training programs to enhance umpires' understanding of the rules and evaluate their performance throughout the season.

Equipment Manager The Equipment Manager oversees the procurement and maintenance of all league sports equipment. This role involves inventory management, ensuring all equipment is safe and in good condition, and coordinating equipment distribution to teams.

Field Manager The Field Manager is responsible for the maintenance and scheduling of playing fields to ensure they meet league and safety standards. They manage field improvements projects, and coordinate with volunteers and staff to maintain high-quality playing conditions/field setup for game day.

Clinics/Picture Day Coordinator This coordinator plans and manages skills clinics and the league's annual picture day. They ensure all logistics are handled smoothly, from scheduling to equipment setup, providing participants with valuable learning opportunities and memorable experiences.

Uniform Manager/Spiritwear Coordinator The Uniform Manager selects and orders team uniforms each season, ensuring they meet Little League requirements. They manage the distribution of uniforms and coordinate with vendors for spiritwear, maintaining clear communication with families and coaches regarding uniform details.

League Information Officer The League Information Officer (LIO) maintains the league's website, ensuring all content is up-to-date and accessible. They manage user access and ensure the website operates smoothly, providing support for team webmasters and handling all technical aspects of the site.  The LIO is also responsible for the coach's annual background checks.
